The Kayacat COUGAR packs into a backpack and goes from bag to water in around fifteen minutes. It’s built for easy rigging and steady sailing, with the option to sit and paddle or stand for a gentle SUP when the wind drops.
Wide sailing mode: unzip the cross-struts; the COUGAR frame expands to a wider stance. The frame adds corner pieces and sections to take the mast, daggerboard and rudder mounts for proper sailing control.
Paddle / SUP mode: zip the cross-struts and use the narrower stance for efficient paddling or a stable SUP platform.
The twin hulls track straight and give reassuring stability. It moves in a light breeze and has plenty of fun as the wind fills in. Handling is simple and predictable, even if you’re new to small-boat sailing.
